Sub-prime Collection Analysis

Client Need: A national mortgage company was rapidly growing its sub-prime mortgage portfolio and needed proactive assistance with improving collections performance for anticipated increasing collection volumes. BenchMark Consulting International was engaged to complete an assessment, analysis and design of the sub-prime collections functions.

Solution: BenchMark Consulting documented the current operating environment including strategies, technology usage, workflows, processes, policies and procedures. Analysis of this data resulted in recommended detailed design alternatives including proposed organizational charts and workflows. A staffing model was developed and management was trained in its use.

Result: Increased productivity, better leverage of technology, and a reduction in loss rates resulted in annual savings to the mortgage company of $3.2 million.
