Client Need: The director of business development and chief executive officer of a large North American business process outsourcer looked to diversify its businesses and future revenue stream. This client sought BenchMark to lead the effort in building a business case for creation of a Mortgage Business Process Outsourcing unit.

Solution: BenchMark identified the 70 high-level services related to mortgage business processes and worked with the client to identify where new offerings could add value in terms of saved time or costs as part of the end-to-end mortgage cycle.  BenchMark worked with selected vendors in initial design and development phases to create the business process flows for both Originations and Servicing representing the end-to-end process.

Results: The result was a significant cost savings for prospective clients joining the mortgage business process outsourcer as a result of the processes, technology, and economies of scale of the new proposed offering.  BenchMark’s efforts as a mortgage subject matter expert assisted the client in identifying opportunities and weaknesses within the marketplace and also creating a realistic business case for evaluation of next steps.
