Mortgage Loan Origination Process Improvement
Client Need: Senior management of a mortgage lending division of a regional bank, was experiencing unprecedented origination volumes and significant loan processing inefficiencies and desired an objective review to identify opportunities for improvement through process redesign.
Solution: BenchMark Consulting documented the current operating environment including workflows, processes and procedures. From that data, recommendations that emphasized improved communications and teamwork were developed and delivered in a database format for client tracking purposes. A staffing model was developed and BenchMark identified areas outside of project scope where process improvements were indicated including: Post Closing; Funding; LOS technology; Image; Branch Closing and Files.
Results: BenchMark identified $1.8 million in potential savings based on implementation of recommendations.
